The Museum of London aims to strengthen the capital's richly diverse museum sector, through its regional programme of support and partnership working. This work is funded by the Renaissance in the Regions programme, a national investment in regional museums, managed by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council. From October 2011 the programme will come under the management of Arts Council England (ACE).
Renaissance in the Regions is a ground-breaking programme to transform England's regional museums. Central government funding is enabling regional museums across the country to raise their standards and deliver real results in local communities.
This map shows how that funding has been used to benefit London's non-national museums in financial years 2009-10 and 2010-11. This support was delivered by the London Museums Hub, a partnership between the Museum of London, Geffrye Museum, Horniman Museum and London Transport Museum.
Each pin on the map points to a museum that has received grants and support.
Zoom into the map to get a detailed view of your area and click on a pin to see the museum’s name and the total funding it has received.
To find out more about the museum and see a detailed breakdown of the grants and support received, click the ‘read more’ link.
You can order the museums by number, the borough they belong to, or by the total amount of grants they have received.
To find out more about the museum and see a detailed breakdown of the grants and support received, click the museum’s name.
